Each book, in reading order

The full description of every book in the anthology.

I: The Atlantis Papyrus

The best place to begin. It takes place ~323 B.C, and spans Europe, Egypt, all the way to the borders of India, and back. This is where you meet Deon and Eurydice, the pair at the heart of the anthology.

II: Sinister Sands

Set in Egypt around the same time as The Atlantis Papyrus, this story brings back its characters. The backstory to what they face here is told in The Curse of Ammon (Book V) — but this reads wonderfully on its own.

III: Maurya

While this story stands on its own, it brings back the principal characters from Books I and II. Travel to India on a diabolical mission on behalf of a man with world-conquering ambitions.

IV: The Wrath of God

A standalone set about a thousand years before The Atlantis Papyrus. You needn’t have read that book, but here you’ll discover the backstory behind some of its discoveries. You will journey to Egypt and a mighty neighboring empire in the Great Green Sea, take part in a clash of kingdoms, and witness an apocalyptic event.

V: The Curse of Ammon

A complete standalone set in 524 B.C. — it tells the backstory behind Sinister Sands (Book II), which is what ties it into the anthology. You will sweat and go thirsty as you walk with the Persian army of 50,000, sent by King of Kings Cambyses II, to the remote Western Desert, to raze the sacred temple of the Oracle of Ammon and enslave its people.

VI: The Death Pit

This story is a standalone that predates the rest, and takes you to world of danger and desperation in ancient Mesopotamia. Come to the great city of Ur of the Sumerians in this story of a royal scribe whose life is about to get very complicated.

VII: The Crimson Aten

This is a standalone set during the final months of Pharaoh Akhenaten and is set in Egypt ~1330 BCE. It retains the familiar style of the anthology.
